It was a life-changing moment as I walked out and decided there and then that I wanted to become a Pilates instructor.
I had been practising Pilates for over 16 years starting out when pregnant with my son. I enjoyed how it made me feel and the strength it gave me. However, I gave up classes for a while while moving house and I noticed that I was suffering with constant lower back pain from carrying my son around all the time. When I ended up using a walking stick to get out of bed I realised that I had to return to classes and I haven't looked back since.
So, going back to my life-changing moment, I set out with my plan and shared it with my husband who was 100% behind it. My son was also fully supportive as long as he didn't have to go anywhere near a Pilates studio. My plan meant selling my trusted horse box (which really should have had a blog of its own the amount of scrapes we got into!) to put the money towards paying for the course and starting my own business. You could hear the sigh of relief from my horse, Star, when the lorry was driven away.
I decided upon Body Control Pilates as my trainer of choice and signed on the dotted line with a start date of January 2018. My 50th birthday was also looming at the end of the year and I was heading for a mid-life crisis. I gave myself the year to complete the course and pass my final exam.
Why not join me in a pilates class and I'll tell you more about it all.
