Trainer to the celebs, Wayne Leal, in yesterday's The Times shares his secrets of healthy ageing, with exercise as a key component. In our 40s and 50s, we often start to feel pains, twinges and niggles which may spur us to exercise. However, what worked in our earlier years may not work now. Leal recommends swimming and upright walking in a pool combined with more high-intensity interval training. Furthermore, he believes that postural exercises, as seen in Pilates, are the number one anti-ageing weapon. Other top healthy ageing tips include standing on one leg with your eyes closed, squats and increasing your mobility and flexibility. Sound familiar?
